NSD Accepts Delegation of Mongolian Clearing Securities House and Central Depository

MOSCOW - On 4-6 July, 2011, a delegation of Mongolian Securities Clearing House and Central Depository (MSCH&CD) has visited National Settlement Depository (NSD), Russia's only settlement depository servicing the full range of debt and equity securities of Russian issuers. The delegation included E. Amarsaikhan, Deputy Director, MSCH&CD; G. Avirmed, Manager of Depository and Registration of Ownership Right Department, MSCH&CD; and J. Baigalmaa, Manager of Public Relations Department.

The delegates visited NSD at its invitation in order to see how operates Russia's biggest settlement depository, the MICEX Group in general, the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories where NSD functions as Secretariat, to find out the administrative procedures of membership in the Association and to understand the structure of Russian securities market.

For the first time MSCH&CD expressed its interest in Russia during a conversation with NSD representative at the General meeting of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) in June 2010 in Paris. After that NSD sent an official invitation to MSCH&CD.

The program of the delegation's visit included meetings with representatives of NSD's key departments and divisions, reports by MICEX's representatives, excursion in NSD's office which included a demonstration of business processes conducted in the course of execution of depository and banking operations, and a visit to MICEX headquarter. The delegates have held a presentation related to structure of Mongolian securities market and settlement system.

This visit greatly contributed toward future strengthening of the relationship between NSD and MSCH&CD.
