On 28 June, 2006 NDC started to carry out full set of functions of a National numbering agency for Russia

On 28 June, 2006 NDC started carrying out functions of the National numbering agency for Russia including allocation of ISINs and CFI codes and other functions related to servicing unique integrated information maintenance complex. From that date Wertpapier – Mitteilungen (Germany) discontinued acting as substituting agency for Russia. NDC, after successfull test of its operational capabilities had allocated first codes and sent daily file to the ANNA Service Bureau.

The decision to hand-over functions of a national numbering agency for Russia from Wertpapier – Mitteilungen to NDC was taken on ANNA Board of Directors meeting held in March 2006. During that meeting the ANNA Board recommended WM Germany and NDC to agree timeline and associated logistics to provide transfer of the numbering functions and related tasks to NDC. Wertpapier – Mitteilungen and NDC in close cooperation with ANNA Service Bureau and Standard & Poor’s adjusted all organizational and technological issues for hand-over to NDC and as a result agreed to set 28 June, 2006 as an effective date when all functions of a national numbering agency for Russia are transmitted to NDC.
